Stanton Vineyards - Our Wine
The Stanton family has been growing grapes in the Napa Valley since 1947. Beginning with the harvest of 1999, Doug Stanton began selecting some of their best Oakville Cabernet for the Stanton Vineyards label. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, the Stantons grow Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Mourvedre and Petite Sirah. Roughly half of our acreage lies in the Oakville appellation, and the other half within the St. Helena appellation of the Napa Valley.
Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
100% Stanton Estate Varietal Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The Oakville appellation in Napa Valley has long been recognized as a unique combination of soil, topography
and climate that join together to create an environment that produces world class cabernet sauvignons.
For over forty years the Stanton Family has grown exceptional cabernet grapes on their 42 acre Oakville
Vineyard. Since 1999 they have produced award winning cabernets of their own from these grapes under the
Stanton Vineyards label.
In 2010 the growing season presented significant challenges. Two separate and extreme heat spikes rendered
some of the fruit not suitable for premium wine production. With careful thinning of this inferior fruit we
were able to produce one of our biggest and brightest cabernets to date. The 2010 Cabernet has a fresh fruit
forwardness that we love, a hearty and full mid pallet, and finishes with delightful well-integrated soft, semisweet tannins that beg for another sip.
This release is sure to be another success from Winemaker Dave Phinney and Winegrower Doug Stanton. As always, we
hope you enjoy drinking this wine as much as we enjoyed growing and producing it for you!

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2009
Wine Spectator score: 92 points!
100% Stanton Estate Varietal Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The Oakville appellation in Napa Valley has long been recognized as a unique combination of soil, topography and climate that join together to create an environment optimal to producing world class Cabernet Sauvignon.
For over 40 years the Stanton Family has grown exceptional cabernet grapes on their 42-acre Oakville vineyard. Beginning in 1999, they have sourced fruit from a small section of this vineyard to produce a limited number of cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
In 2009 growing conditions were ideal. The result: a wine that is intensely concentrated with expressive aromas of ripe cassis, blackberry and blueberry, masterfully integrated with 50% new French oak by winemaker Dave Phinney.
As always, we hope you enjoy drinking our wine as much as we enjoyed growing and producing it for you!

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Wine Spectator score: 91 points!
100% Stanton Estate Varietal Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The growing season of 2008 produced smaller-than-normal berries and fewer clusters per vine. As such, our yields were almost half of normal. The result is a wine that is intensely concentrated with expressive aromas of ripe cassis, blackberry and blueberry. This fine wine finishes with smooth, well integrated oak flavors and medium to full tannins.

Stanton Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Wine Spectator score: 93 points!
100% Stanton Estate Varietal Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2006 vintage is a delicious 100% varietal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. This represents a departure from accustomed practice at Stanton Vineyards, in that there is not the slightest influence of any other grape variety in the wine.

Stanton Saint Helena Petite Sirah 2010
100% Stanton Estate Varietal Petite Sirah
The growing season of 2010 was dominated by two significant heat spikes. The first in August
and a second in September. By carefully eliminating the damaged and inferior fruit prior to harvest,
we were able to continue our consistent string of 100% varietal petite sirahs, but at a much smaller
case production.
Our 2010 Petite Sirah is every bit as dark and opulent as previous offerings. It opens with bright
blueberry and cassis fruit, continues with a well integrated smokey middle, and finishes with big, burly
tannins that are sure to satisfy the heartiest petite sirah enthusiast.
Another success from wine grower Doug Stanton and winemaker Dave Phinney. We hope you enjoy drinking our wine as much as we enjoyed growing and producing it for you!

Consistent and loyal fans of Stanton Petite Sirah will not be disappointed with this 2009 offering. Its dark, brooding texture is masterfully integrated to allow the chocolate berry fruit to shine bright against the nice oak finish.
